Manage the expectations
A study by Reebok showed that there are 25 915 days is the life of an average human. Well, that’s a bit disturbing, isn’t it? Think about how many days you’ve already spent in diapers or learning to read/write/talk or walk. (Just realized that I’ve already spent 36% of those days. Talk about a waste of time…).
I’ve always lived my life in the future (get back to the first paragraph and have a laugh). Or with a vision in mind, as others would say. Thus I’ve spent my life thinking about how I am investing my resources to get there.
The resources can include your time, friends and family time, brainpower, abilities, and MONEY!
I am also a strong believer that every person goes through at least 3 different stages of using money:
- Spend everything you have and potentially more;
- Save, save, save;
- Smart spending on necessities/investing.
That’s at least the stages I’ve experienced till now though my mind is still in the stage of wanting more. MORE is a key word here. And why? Because the future and visions I’ve dreamed about are still not my reality. I’d say that one thing standing between me and my dream is money, cash, bills… call it any way you want. Can you relate to that?
However, quoting the Wall Street Wolf Jordan Belfort:
“The only thing standing between you and your dream is the
bullsh !t story you keep telling yourself as to why you can’t achieve it!Jordan Belfort
And when it is not enough for me, I go back to a hardcore fact: “To achieve wealth or save, you HAVE TO EARN MORE THAN YOU SPEND!”
As easy as that, right? (sarcastically chuckles)
Well, if that would be that easy, I would not be here.
I’d be a successful businesswoman or a turnaround manager helping struggling companies to get back to solvency by rectifying the reasons for their failing performance. I’d be helping young businesswomen build their businesses in my free time. And in the evening I’d return to my spacious city center apartment with full-length windows with a view of the city’s skyscrapers.
Haven’t seen those skyscrapers yet, though. BUT THE GIRL CAN DREAM!
In the end, though it comes to one thing: FINANCIAL FREEDOM. The world where money is just a means of achieving something valuable not stopping me.
I will still get there. Mark my words, but it just might be a bit of a rollercoaster till then.
Having said all that, there are a few things which I’ve researched, tried, experienced, achieved or failed at. I want to use this space to share this knowledge with You!
And what you’ll get out of this?
- Intro to the Beast named “Personal Finances”;
- Tips and tricks on how to manage the Beast (budgeting, investing, saving, smart spending, debt management);
- Experience stories on things you should or should not do to achieve your financial freedom;
- The how-to on your income and expense management;
- Change of your beliefs/values around money and achieving the miracle state of mind: “Financial mindset” ;
- A large dose of motivation to get your sh*t together;
- And a dose of sarcastic humor, hopefully.
And if even after all that, your bank account is still looking at you with those 00 eyes, then let’s come up with the solution together.
